Good Samaritan Medical Center has added physician specialists known as hospitalists and intensivists to our care team. Hospitalists are physicians who are specially trained in the care of hospitalized patients. Working in collaboration with primary care doctors, hospitalists care for patients from the time they are admitted to the hospital until they are discharged. This includes reviewing care, prescribing medications, ordering tests and treatments, and coordinating follow-up care after discharge.
Intensivists make recommendations regarding care issues for patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Board certified or board prepared in critical care medicine, they are on site and can be reached by an ICU nurse at any time of the day or night.
Through a new approach to inpatient food and nutrition, you may order your own meals at any time of day from a room service menu found on your bedside table. Call extension 3663 (FOOD) from the phone in your room to place your order. Your meals will be prepared when you call and they will be delivered in less than one hour.
If you are on a special or restricted diet, you may still be able to order from room service. When you call, a nutrition assistant will explain your diet and help you with your selections.
