Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts has recognized Good Samaritan Medical Center as a Blue Distinction Center for Knee and Hip Replacement. The Blue Distinction Program highlights hospitals with proven expertise in delivering specialty care. This notable program helps patients identify hospitals that have an established commitment to providing quality care along with better results and outcomes. Good Samaritan Medical Center offers comprehensive knee and hip replacement services, including total joint replacement of the arthritic knees, hips, shoulders and other joints. Good Samaritan’s was chosen as a Blue Distinction Center for Knee and Hip Replacement because of factors related to quality, safety, and efficiency.

Dr. Stephen McNeil, Chief of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery said, “The orthopedic service is proud of our total hip and knee program. We have an outstanding team.  The staffs from Same Day Surgery, the Operating Room, the Recovery Room and the orthopedic floor, all work together to achieve excellence in the care of our patients.”  McNeil continued, “We use state of the art implants for hip and knee replacement and we are proud of our results with low complication rates and high patient satisfaction rates.”

“Our Orthopedic program excels due to the skill of experienced community-based surgeons who partner with Good Samaritan,” said hospital President Jeffrey Liebman.  “ In addition to Stephen McNeil, MD, patients in the southeast region have access to Drs. Ray Pavlovich and David Worman of Orthopedic Care Specialists.  Together, they perform the majority of total hip and knee replacement surgeries and lead the clinical team at Good Samaritan that works together from pre-op to recovery.  This award is an honor and reassures our patients that they will receive quality care and treatment for their orthopedic surgical needs,” said Liebman.
