Good Samaritan Medical Center welcomes Breast Surgeon Xuan Luu, MD to their comprehensive women’s health

services, including the Women’s Imaging Center which recently received designation from the American College of Radiology as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the Commission on Quality and Safety and the Commission on Breast Imaging.  The Center is accredited in Mammography, Stereotactic Breast Biopsy, Breast Ultrasound, and Ultrasound-Guided Breast Biopsy.

The Breast Imaging Center of Excellence (BICOE) designation is awarded to breast imaging centers that achieve excellence by seeking and earning accreditation in all of the ACR’s voluntary breast-imaging accreditation programs and modules, in addition to the mandatory Mammography Accreditation Program.

“Receiving this designation of excellence from the American College of Radiology truly underscores our continued efforts to bring quality services home to the community,” said John Jurczyk, President of Good Samaritan Medical Center. “Every member on the team of care givers is equally responsible for this award as they work daily to maintain a standard of excellence that is unparalleled.”

The addition of Xuan M. Luu, MD as a new breast surgeon to Steward Surgical Associates will increase options for women in the community. In addition to specializing in breast cancer surgeries, Luu has an interest in breast neoplasm, breast disease, and all disorders of the breast. “I’m excited to join esteemed colleagues in this field such as Dr. Richard Paulson and to begin my practice treating women in all areas of breast health,” said Dr. Luu.  “Not only with patients with a cancer diagnosis, but also with benign issues that may need to be addressed.”

Dr. Luu attended medical school at Tufts University School of Medicine and received her fellowship in breast surgery at the Langone Medical Center of New York University.  She is a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons.

“We are honored to welcome a physician of Dr. Luu’s caliber to our team of surgeons and to the comprehensive care we offer women,” President Jurczyk continued.  “She brings with her a wealth of knowledge in breast surgery practices and will add considerably to the continuum of care Good Samaritan Medical Center offers to each of our patients.”

Xuan Luu, MD has joined the team of surgeons at Steward Surgical Associates, located at One Pearl Street in Brockton, Suite 2000.  She is accepting new patients and can be reached at (508) 584-4104.
