EMS Week (May 20-26)

I would like to invite the residents of the greater Brockton area to join me in thanking the health care heroes in our community as we celebrate not only Nurses Week and Hospital Week, but also National Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Week this May.

During EMS Week (May 20-26), we pay tribute to our area EMS professionals – including emergency medical technicians, paramedics, firefighters, police officers, and others who answer the call for help – day or night, in all kinds of weather and in all kinds of situations - many of which can be dangerous and emotionally challenging. It’s easy to forget how difficult this work can be, however, our Dispatchers, Firefighters, EMTs and Paramedics selflessly dedicate their lives to caring for those in need 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Last year, Good Samaritan Medical Center became the only designated Level III Trauma Center south of Boston, servicing the 70+ communities of EMS Region V. This achievement would not have been possible without the support of our EMS partners. We are sincerely grateful for their dedication, professionalism, and compassion, and for the outstanding care they provide to our patients.

Please join me in thanking them for the exceptional and life-saving work they do.

President, Good Samaritan Medical Center
