Good Samaritan Medical Center Welcomes Midwives to OB/GYN Program

Julia Louis, CNM, and Nicole Mapes, CNM, join OB/GYN team 

Good Samaritan Medical Center is pleased to announce the appointment of Julia Louis, CNM, and Nicole Mapes, CNM, to the OB/GYN program.  

The addition of midwives to the Good Samaritan OB/GYN team provides women in the region with another option for their care.  Our Midwives will provide office-based OB/GYN care, as well as providing obstetrical and postpartum care for patients in Good Samaritan’s Maternity Center.

Julia Louis, CNM earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Stony Brook University and completed a master’s in nurse-midwifery at SUNY Downstate Medical Center. She trained with the Stony Brook Midwives, at North Central Bronx Hospital, and completed her midwife integration at Boston Medical Center. Julia is certified by the American Midwifery Certification Board. She previously worked as a registered nurse at Mystick Women’s Health.

Nicole Mapes, CNM completed a bachelor’s degree in nursing from River University and a master’s in nursing for midwifery at Frontier Nursing University, and is certified by the American Midwifery Certification Board. She was a student midwife at Steward Health Care and Beverly Hospital, and completed her midwife integration at Lowell General Hospital, where she also served as a registered nurse on the Mother and Infant Unit.
